Home is where the heart is-7: Passion life

Bright, vivid colors always bring me joy for mood. Even the food I make is colorful.
Whatever I want to do, I have to put love in it. When I love doing something, will have the passion to learn and try. I beliebe I can do many things if love it.
Cheers to myself.

Home is where the heart is-6: On a longer journey

Traveling is what I like, I do traveling a lot during business trips. Recently I feel my legs are tight and need more exercise on the airplane. Business class
has wider space for stretching the legs. From my experiences I rate Emirates airline's business class one of the top ones, which has beatiful air hostess with amiable smile and care. Special impression in mind is a bottle of water when I just reach the seat. "Drink a lot of water" always show on the in-flight TV.

A cardiologist doctor said for normal healthy people, being in a confined seat for 6-8 hours should be fine, but after that you need to more and exercise every hour or so. Obese travelers or travelers on birth control pills or with blood clotting disorders should consult with a physician before embarking on a longer journey. In some cases physician may recommend that wear DVT compression stockings to help prevent the formation of potentially harmful blood clots in the legs. If blood cannot circulate properly and blood clots begin to form. These clots can be fatal if they travel to the heart, brain, lung resulting in an inability to breathe, paralysis or heart attack.

Home is where the heart is-5: Dubai's Hotel

Most emphasis on luxury hotel in United Arab Emirates, it's where a stay at the sail-shaped "seven-star" Burj Al-Arab hotel will more than US$2,000 a night. Most hotel guests continue to stay at high-end places. Now, budget hotels are moving into the emirate to meet growing demand of low-cost travellers. Price are expected to be from around 70 euros, and around 250 to 300 dirhams. Number of budget hotel chains are now moving into Dubai this playground for the rich. The number of travellers would love to stay in one-star, Limited-service hotels next year.

Home is where the heart is-4: Spaghetti.

Often, I cook Spaghetti. I always thought that is Italy food. I just knew the spaphetonni was from Arab. When Arab geographer traveled and recorded down the features of Sicily, the practice of drying pasta for conservation was most likely brought to Sicily by occupying Arabs, showed a food called "itryah" (flatbread cut into strips) . It manufactured in Trabia, near Palermo, and exported to Southern Italy and Islamic countries. Even up to now, Sicily still has pasta called "Vermicelli di Tria", probably it is the noodle originated from that time. Talking about Arabs, we think about long journey Arab traders. To them, how to preserve the food longer is very important, so they knew how to dry the food long time ago. Not only pasta that was brought into Sicily, Arabs also brought in couscous, rice, sugar, almond, orange, lemon, dry fruits, and all sorts of things, because the hard wheat thrived in Sicily, where the big-sun climate is very much suitable for drying the food.
Today I miss a friend who went to traveling since Chinese moon-cake day last week.

Home is where the heart is-3: Dates

I like dates, sometimes I chopped and cooked it use in cereal, bread and ice cream, jam, But,.......too sweet for me......and 100g=Calories 285. I've to get diet after eat dates.
When extremely dry weather will cause dates to shrivel on the palm.
Those dates are picked early while they are still light colored. Date seeds used in a variety of ways, soaked in water until soft n fed to camels, horses and goats. In India, date seeds are roasted, ground, and used to adulterate coffee.
The date palm must have full sun and thrives in sand, sandy loam. Most of date originated in the lands around the Persian Gulf . The palms are pruned twice a year, and watered 15 to 40 times a year. Overhead moisture during will cause cracks.
In Saudi Arabia use ladders, mobile steel towers with catwalks for pickers to expedite harvesting. And some place, the harvesters climb the palms, use sticks, ropes to lower the fruit, or they may pass the clusters down from hand to hand.

Home is where the heart is-2: Arabian Dates

Last year was my third time Ramadan in an Arabic country and I didn't have to wear Abaiya during Ramadan. It was really an experience in Ramadan.
When I first came to KSA, most people would speak to me in Arabic. I do not know how to speak Arabic they said. Now a days most people in the UAE speak perfect English most of the time, and got comfortable enough to speak it.

The year I stayed at Dhahran along with Mrs. Basma, a next door neighbour. She is a very nice lady, well educated, speaks English, French and Arabic. I learned few words of Arabic and French languages from her, she taught me some cultures and tradition of her mother land Lebanon.
From that time, I started to love Lebanonese food. especially crazy about "Zadar".
When I arrived UAE, I was looking for "Zadar" around the town; however, so far I'm still looking for it.

Home is where the heart is: Dubai.

I like Dubai. There are more than 2,000 Chinese companies operation in the UAE & the trade under government's business strategy

Few years ago, when I first arrived Arab's world, it attracts me by their culture. Dubai is a land of more than 180 different nationalities. The official language of Dubai is Arabic. English is widely spoken.
Everytime landed in Dubai is always midnight, airport is crowded has to be waited. The air in the terminal lobby contains the smell of Arab.
There are more than 110 airline companies operating from Dubai to more than 165 destinations.
Dubai is among the few cities in the world to apply the open-skies policy, and has started to use the electronic gate system on fingerprints and an e-card data of the residents. Electronic card system will help the goverment and monitor the activties of terrorist or criminal suspects.
